About Adam
Adam E. Deitz is an attorney and licensed mariner who specializes in maritime personal injury matters. Raised on the water, Adam’s first job was dishwasher and deckhand on a commercial riverboat along the Tennessee River. Working his way up through the ranks (known as “hawsepiping”), he earned his U.S.C.G. Master endorsement in 2010. Since then, Adam has captained commercial passenger vessels on both coasts, including vessels in the Tennessee Valley, Narragansett Bay, Boston Harbor, and Lake Washington. Adam attended Roger Williams University School of Law in Rhode Island, where he studied specialty courses in maritime law. While attending law school, Adam simultaneously obtained a Master of Marine Affairs degree from the University of Rhode Island. Before graduating, Adam also clerked with District 1 Legal of the U.S. Coast Guard in Boston, Massachusetts. After law school, Adam became an associate attorney at a boutique maritime law firm in New York City, primarily representing vessel owners in litigation. He continued his litigation career by joining one of the highest-ranked maritime defense law firms in the country. In 2020, Adam relocated to Washington State to represent mariners who suffered injury in maritime accidents due to the negligence of others. He is excited to use his years of experience in vessel owner litigation and insurance defense to zealously advocate for his injured clients. Adam is a licensed mariner and experienced maritime lawyer, a Proctor in Admiralty, and has been recognized by his peers for personal injury litigation expertise. He has been named a Super Lawyers Rising Star multiple times and recognized by Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch multiple times. He also holds an AV Preeminent Rating from Martindale-Hubbell.
