Barbara Blackmon is the Managing Partner of Blackmon & Blackmon, PLLC. She holds an LL.M. from New York University School of Law, a J.D. from the University of Mississippi School of Law, an M.B.A. from the University of Alabama, and a B.S. from Jackson State University. Admitted to the bar in Mississippi (1981) and New York (1982), she made history as the first Black woman to represent Madison, Yazoo, and Holmes counties in the Mississippi State Senate in 1992, serving multiple terms. She has held numerous leadership roles in professional and community organizations.
