About Braden
Braden A. Beard specializes in labor and employment, civil rights, and complex civil cases. In addition to representing employees in a range of employment matters, including class actions, Braden has represented unions and union members in grievances, arbitrations, and contract negotiations. He also maintains an active practice of cases involving police misconduct cases and other civil rights violations. In the area of complex civil litigation, Braden has been part of a case team that has achieved appellate victories in the First, Second, and Fourth Circuits. Before joining Johnson & Webbert, LLP, Braden graduated with honors from the University of Texas School of Law and was an Associate Editor on the Texas Law Review, before serving as a law clerk for two federal judges and then working in Washington, DC, at an international class-action firm, representing claimants in antitrust, consumer protection, and environmental cases. Braden was named to the list of “Best Lawyers, Ones to Watch” the past three years, and he has presented on labor and employment topics at events hosted by the Maine State Bar Association, the American Arbitration Association, LERA-Maine, and the Maine Education Association. He is licensed to practice in Maine, Illinois, and Washington, D.C.
