Charles Blume founded the firm in Newark, New Jersey in 1929. He attended the University of Newark Law School at night, graduating in 1929. He developed a successful law practice representing commercial clients and handling minor criminal defense cases, as well as occasional personal injury cases. His son, John Blume, later joined him in practice.
