Charles W. Balsiger, J.D. of Norfolk, NE graduated from the University of Nebraska College of Law in 1971, was admitted to the Nebraska State Bar Association in February 1972. He has over of 45 years legal experience as an active practitioner, including service as a staff attorney on the Nebraska Commission on Law Enforcement an Criminal Justice, several years as a prosecuting attorney and as Gage County Attorney in Beatrice, Nebraska. His practice areas include Criminal Law, Domestic Relations, Real Estate & Probate, Personal Injury & Defense, Employment Law, Business Law, in General Practice. He has his B.A. from the University of South Dakota College of Arts and Sciences. Mr. Balsiger currently serves as a member of the Board of Educational Service Unit #8 serving several counties in Northeast Nebraska. He has previously served in public office as Gage County Attorney, and as a Board member of the Norfolk Airport Authority. He has been active in the Norfolk Nebraska Lions Club and the International Association of Lions Clubs and is a Past District Governor of District 38-O. He is originally from Watertown, South Dakota, is married over 47 years to his wife Kathy, and has four adult daughters. Professionally he is a graduate of the National District Attorney’s Association Trial Tactics Seminar, and has actively maintained Continuing Legal Education through the Nebraska State Bar Association, and the ABA Practicing Law Institute. He is a trained Mediator through the Nebraska Bar Association, and is a Certified Mediator through Mediation Training Institute International. Mr. Balsiger is now Of Counsel with Carney Law.
