He focuses on defending those accused of drug and OWI charges, and has obtained dismissals of over 130 such charges. He is co-author of 'Iowa OWI Defense: The Law and Practice' and a chapter in 'Defending DUI Vehicular Homicide Cases'. His efforts led to a landmark Iowa Supreme Court decision in State v. Wright regarding warrantless trash rips. He is also the Executive Director of Iowa NORML. He graduated with Honors from Drake Law School in 1996 and Grinnell College in 1991.
