David Stowman is a highly recognized personal injury attorney in Minnesota, having been named a Minnesota Personal Injury Super Lawyer for over a decade, including "every year since 2007 - 15 straight years!". He was also recognized as one of 15 Minnesota Attorneys of the Year for 2004 and received the American Institute of Personal Injury Attorneys' "10 Best Personal Injury Attorneys for Client Satisfaction" award in 2015 and 2018. David is a recipient of the 2014 Minnesota State Bar Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award and served as president of the MSBA in 2004-2005. He is also a board member and 2011-13 Chair of the State of Minnesota Board of Public Defense. David opened his law office in Detroit Lakes in 1972, and has been active in the Detroit Lakes community, serving as an alderman, Commander of Detroit Lakes VFW Post 1676, Chairman of the United Way Fundraising Drive, and Admiral of the Detroit Lakes Jaycees Water Carnival.
