About Douglas
Douglas was born in North Carolina but has made Southern California his home since early childhood. Since graduating law school, Douglas has dedicated his entire legal career to representing employees in claims against their employers (both individuals and class actions). Douglas began his legal career working at a prominent California-based employee rights law firm. Before joining Brock & Gonzales, LLP, Douglas was a founding partner in his own employee rights firm, Hurwitz, Orihuela, & Hayes LLP. In his career, he has represented thousands of individuals in employment cases and has earned millions of dollars in verdicts and settlements for his clients. Douglas is a graduate of University of California, Los Angeles, and Loyola Law School. At Loyola, he was a staffer on the Loyola of Los Angeles International and Comparative Law Review. As recognition of his professional successes, Douglas was selected as a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyer Magazine beginning in 2007. Douglas received this distinguished honor each year thereafter until 2017. From 2018 through 2022, Douglas was selected as a “Super Lawyer” by this same publication. Douglas is a member of California Employment Lawyers Association and the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles.
