Elizabeth Thomas graduated from Lawrence County High School in 1990 and Morehead State University in 1994 with a B.A. in Political Science and a minor in English. She earned her J.D. from Louis D. Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville in 1998, where she was active with the Journal of Family Law. She passed the Kentucky Bar in 1998. Her career began at Legal Aid of the Bluegrass (1998-2008), with a brief period at the Boyd County Public Defender's Office. She also ran her own firm, Law Office of Elizabeth Thomas (2008-2014), and worked at Thomas & Francis PSC (2014-2016). She has presented at the Kentucky Law Update and the Consumer Bankruptcy Law Conference. Her focus areas include Bankruptcy, Personal Injury, and Criminal Law.
