About Emily

Emily is an associate attorney at CBH Attorneys & Counselors, focusing her practice on bankruptcy and family law. Before joining the firm in 2022, Emily was a legal extern for the Honorable Scott W. Dales, Chief Judge, in the United Stated Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Michigan, located in Grand Rapids, Michigan. While there, Emily conducted research and analysis relating to a variety of different bankruptcy issues, even attended the bankruptcy hearings each month to act as bailiff for Chief Judge, Scott W. Dales. In 2021, Emily graduated from the Western Michigan University Thomas M. Cooley School of Law. During her time at Cooley Law, Emily served as the Senior Resource Editor for the WMU Thomas M. Cooley Law Review. Here, she was awarded the John D. Voelker Award for Senior Associate Editors of the Law Review who have made the most significant contribution to its publication and reputation. Her work, “Separation of Powers: A Simple but Crucial Doctrine Amidst a Pandemic,” has been accepted by the WMU Thomas M. Cooley Law Review for upcoming publication. In addition to this, Emily contributed as Member of the Western Michigan Cooley Honor Council, held a Student Representative position with the Office of Student Assistance Program, and became a mentor with the WMU Cooley Law Mentorship Committee. Before calling Grand Rapids home, Emily grew up in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, where she attended Northern Michigan University, graduating in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice.
