About Ferdinand
Attorney Ferdinand Alvarez joined Campbell Law, P.C. after many years working as a Prosecutor in Lake and Porter Counties. During that time, Attorney Alvarez gained invaluable insight as to the inner workings of both Prosecutor Offices as well as significant trial experience which he now uses to his clients’ advantage. Ultimately, Attorney Alvarez grew tired of seeing the justice system stacked against criminal defendants, which is why he has now dedicated his career to defending those charged with crimes. As a life-long Northwest, Indiana native, Attorney Alvarez attended primary school at Blessed Sacrament in Gary and went on to graduate from Bishop Noll Institute. After completing his undergraduate studies at Purdue University Northwest, Attorney Alvarez obtained his Masters Degree in Public Affairs from Indiana University Northwest. Attorney Alvarez is a graduate of Valparaiso Law School where he participated in the Criminal Law Clinic, clerked for a Porter County Judge, and completed an internship with the Northern District of Indiana Public Defender’s Office. In 2019, Attorney Alvarez made history as the first Latino elected to the Portage City Council, a position he continues to hold today. Attorney Alvarez also serves as the Chairman of the City of Portage Ordinance Committee where he uses his legal knowledge to help his community pass new laws. In his spare time Attorney Alvarez dedicates his time as a member of the Portage Township YMCA Board of Directors and the Indiana University Northwest Alumni Association.
