About Gabriela

Gabriela Picazo Batista is a fully bilingual Associate Immigration Attorney at Virguez Law. Born in Puerto Rico with Cuban and Dominican ancestry, she is passionate about serving the immigrant community and works vigorously to help those who are seeking immigration relief. Gabriela graduated summa cum laude from Georgia State University, with a B.S. in Political Science and a minor in Sociology. During her undergraduate career, she received multiple awards and recognitions, such as the Student Government Associations Senator of the Year, MGC Woman of the Year, and Lucille Ausborn’s New Member of the Year. She subsequently graduated cum laude from Georgia State University College of Law, with an honors pro bono distinction. Her commitment to community and helping others earned her the Georgia State University Public Service Award. She participated in various programs such as the Landlord Mediation Clinic and the Alternative Spring Break program. Simultaneously, she was a full-time law clerk, where she focused her work on immigration, criminal defense, and family law. She also interned for the public defender’s office and a personal injury firm. Since graduating from law school, she has focused her career in immigration removal defense, humanitarian relief, and other immigration related matters. She also addresses legal matters related to family and criminal law. Gabriela continues her commitment to community and enjoys spending time with her family. She serves as a mentor for young women pursuing higher education, and actively participates in volunteer opportunities. She loves to spend quality time with her husband, her dog Killa, and cat Sir Waffles.
