Mr. Johnson represents clients in criminal cases throughout Illinois in state and federal court. He has successfully represented clients in some of Illinois ' highest profile and most complex cases. He has been certified by the Illinois Supreme Court to handle death penalty litigation. Mr. Johnson has been a frequent speaker for professional associations and at seminars, including the Kane County Bar Association, Cook County Public Defender, People's Law School and local schools and organizations. Mr. Johnson served as the elected Kane County State 's Attorney from December 1988 to December 1992, before returning to private practice, and has occasionally been appointed as a special prosecutor. Mr. Johnson's clients have included elected officials, police officers, lawyers, judges and school officials. Other clients have included persons charged with capital and complex financial offenses, as well as DUIs, sex offenses and various other felonies.
