Heather is a passionate advocate for Veterans, bringing both professional dedication and personal connection to her role at Jan Dils, Attorneys at Law. With a specialty in Veterans Disability Law, Heather is deeply committed to serving those who have sacrificed so much in defense of our country. For her, helping Veterans secure the benefits they’ve earned is not just a career-it’s a calling. A graduate of Roger Williams University School of Law, Heather also holds a degree from Hobart and William Smith Colleges. Originally from Maine, where she attended Kents Hill School, Heather now calls Evans, West Virginia home. Her commitment to Veterans is inspired in part by her grandfather, Randolph Backman, who served in the U.S. Navy working in ship boiler rooms and singing in the Navy choir. She keeps his picture and dog tags on her desk as a daily reminder of her purpose. Heather thrives on building relationships with her clients and learning their unique stories. This personal approach allows her to be a stronger, more empathetic advocate. Her warmth, combined with legal skill and dedication, ensures that her clients receive the compassionate support they deserve.
