About Hope
Hope A. Bauman is a Juris Doctor graduate from The University of Texas School of Law. She has demonstrated a strong commitment to civil rights and legal advocacy, serving as a staff editor and technical editor for the Texas Journal on Civil Liberties & Civil Rights. Bauman has received several academic honors, including the Dean’s Achievement Awards in Complex Financial Litigation and Advanced Research in Criminal Justice. She has diverse legal experience, working as an advanced student attorney at the Civil Rights Clinic and a student attorney for the Mithoff Pro Bono Title IX Project. Additionally, she has served as an academic assistant in financial law courses and completed a summer associate position at B&D Law Offices, LLP, where she gained experience in contractual and insurance coverage disputes. Prior to law school, Bauman worked as a paralegal and project associate for alliantgroup LP and Jones Day, handling IRS appeals, litigation preparation, and complex business litigation tasks. Bauman also holds a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies from Dartmouth College, where she published a thesis on American exceptionalism and the U.S.-Mexico border, and a Bachelor of Arts magna cum laude in Political Science and American History from the University of Vermont. Throughout her academic and professional career, she has been actively involved in various volunteer efforts, including as a tax preparer for the IRS’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program.
