About J.
J. Michael Veron received his B.A. in 1972 and his J.D. in 1974 from Tulane. He also attended Harvard Law School, receiving his LL.M. in 1976. He has been an active trial lawyer throughout his career, representing plaintiffs and defendants in civil and criminal cases in federal and state courts in Louisiana and Texas. He has served as a professor teaching trial practice courses at LSU and Tulane Law Schools and is a frequent CLE lecturer. He is listed in The Best Lawyers in America and was inducted into the LSU Law Center Hall of Fame in 1993. He specializes in commercial litigation, including oil and gas matters, and represents landowners against oil companies. He has a lifelong passion for golf, serving on the board of directors for the Louisiana Golf Association and as a USGA Committee Member. He has also published four golf novels and several law review articles. In 2010, he was involved in obtaining the state charter and FDIC approval for Lakeside Bank, where he serves as Chairman of the Board. In 2017, he was elected to the Council of the Louisiana State Law Institute.
