About Jacob

Jacob A. Martin is an associate with the firm of Skelton Taintor & Abbott in Lewiston, Maine. His practice focuses on: Litigation, Environmental Law, Commercial Law, Real Estate. Jacob’s work has a focus on environmental and land use law, municipal governance, and regulatory compliance. He also supports the firm’s litigation and business practice groups, drawing on his background in science and policy to approach legal issues with both analytical and practical insight. Before joining the firm, Jacob gained broad experience through internships and externships with the South Carolina Environmental Law Project, Trout Unlimited-Sebago Chapter, and the Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation & Forestry’s Animal Welfare Program. Jacob’s academic career was marked by leadership and teaching. While a student at the University of Maine School of Law, he co-taught ESP 399: Environmental Law, Policy, and Justice at the University of Southern Maine through the Environmental Teaching Program, giving him the opportunity to combine his legal training with his passion for public education and civic engagement.
