James F. Aspell is the principal and managing attorney of the firm, which he started in 2006 following 20 years of litigation practice in a mid-size firm in Hartford, Connecticut. He focuses his practice in workers' compensation, personal injury litigation, insurance subrogation law, social security disability law, personal bankruptcy, and residential real estate. He is recognized by judges, Commissioners, and attorneys, and has been Peer Rated for his legal ability and ethics by Martindale Hubbell. He has successfully handled hundreds of cases at trial and appellate levels before the Connecticut Worker's Compensation Commission, and in Connecticut State, Federal, and Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Courts. Jim is a Board Certified Connecticut Worker's Compensation Specialist and has held the Recommended Insurance Attorney designation from the A.M. Best Company since 2005. He was admitted to practice in Connecticut State and Federal Courts in 1986, Mashantucket Tribal Court in 1991, and the United States Supreme Court in 1992. He is a 1986 graduate of Western New England College School of Law and a 1983 graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University. He has served as an adjunct faculty member in Aviation Law at the University of New Haven and is active in several professional associations.
