Jim focuses his legal practice in residential and commercial real estate, including purchases, sales, refinances, and property-related issues. He was admitted to the Connecticut Bar in 1984 and began practicing law with F. Timothy McNamara as a civil trial attorney. In 1986, he joined Attorney Paul Kaplan, and in 1989, they formed Kaplan and Brennan LLP. He is a third-generation attorney and practices with his sons, Daniel R. Brennan and Thomas M. Brennan. Attorney Brennan serves as a Judicial Fact Finder for the Connecticut Superior Court and served as a member of the New London County Grievance Panel. He was a former president of Habitat for Humanity of Northeast Connecticut, and a former director of multiple community organizations, including the Northeast Connecticut Chamber of Commerce, The Arc of Quinebaug Valley, and the Quinebaug Rivers Association.
