James Irey is an experienced civil litigator and has represented clients in a wide range of matters involving complex legal issues. Mr. Irey graduated from the University of California Hastings College of the Law in 1990. Mr. Irey has been active in representing clients in civil litigation since graduating law school. His practice has focused on complex commercial litigation, including contractual disputes, business torts, negligence, mass torts, Proposition 65, wrongful death and personal injury. He has been part of litigation teams who have won defense verdicts at trial and on dispositive motions, and he has obtained favorable decisions on appeal. He has significant experience in the day-to-day management of litigation, including leading and developing litigation strategy, taking and defending depositions, working with experts, preparing and arguing substantive motions, negotiating settlements, and managing the scope of document and information collection and participating in mediations and arbitrations.
