Baker graduated from the University of Missouri at Columbia with a Bachelor's degree in Science and Accounting in 1972 and attained his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Missouri Law School in 1975. He was admitted to the Missouri Bar in 1975 and has handled a wide variety of litigation and cases, including Personal Injury, Criminal Defense, Family Law, Real Estate Law, Banking Law, Probate, and Estate Planning. He served on the Board of Directors for St. Clair County State Bank from 1985 until 2012.
