About Jeff

Attorney Jeff Shurmer is dedicated to helping those injured in auto accidents receive fair and just compensation. A graduate of the University of Akron School of Law, he was a member of the school’s competitive trial team. He also served as a student intern for Judge Beth Smith of the Mahoning County Domestic Relations Court and a summer clerk for Judge Mary DeGenaro of the Ohio Seventh District Court of Appeals. Throughout his law school years, he clerked for Attorney Daniel E. Thiel, a highly successful solo practitioner in Cleveland, and worked in the law school’s Small Entrepreneur and Economic Development (“SEED”) Clinic, helping startup businesses with their legal needs under attorney oversight. Attorney Shurmer also graduated Cum Laude in Journalism with a minor in Economics from Kent State University as an undergrad. Married to his wife, Clara for 43 years, he is the father of two adult daughters and two grandchildren. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, traveling, and following the Cleveland professional sports teams.
