Born in 1948 in Richmond, Kentucky, Jimmy Dale Williams graduated from Richmond Madison High School in 1966. He earned a B.A. in Political Science and Chemistry from Eastern Kentucky University (1966-1972) and a Juris Doctorate cum laude from Cumberland School of Law of Samford University in 1975. Admitted to practice in Alabama in 1975, he engaged in general practice there until 1980, handling murder cases, major felonies, and civil fraud cases. He returned to Richmond, Kentucky, in 1980, practicing with Robert C. Moody before establishing a solo practice. His practice emphasizes litigation in criminal law, domestic relations, and personal injuries, including complex estate and trust cases, capital murder cases, and approximately 50 appeals. He has over 41 years of experience.
