About Joe
Joe argued and won a civil trial a month after he became a lawyer. Since then, Joe has continued to zealously advocate for those who have suffered personal injuries resulting from someone else’s negligence. He brings that commitment to doing what’s right each day he walks into his office at High & Younes. Through his prior experience working at an insurance defense firm and as a claims adjuster, Joe has handled injury claims at every stage; from taking the first phone call on a claim to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. He has recovered hundreds of thousands of dollars in compensation on behalf of homeowners whose properties were damaged in hailstorms. At the same time, Joe practices criminal defense. He has an extensive knowledge of criminal law - as well as a passion for protecting his clients’ rights - that he demonstrates in every single case he takes on. A former public defender, Joe has represented more than 500 defendants in misdemeanors, felonies, child support delinquency cases, board of mental health cases, and other administrative actions. He has successfully represented individuals charged with crimes throughout eastern Nebraska, including before the Nebraska Court of Appeals. Joe also has defended clients charged with federal crimes. At High & Younes, Joe continues to work tirelessly to ensure his criminal defense clients have a strong, experienced, and passionate voice representing them both inside and outside the courtroom. Joe primarily represents people arrested for DUI - whether it’s a first, second, or third offense - regardless of their past criminal convictions. He also defends clients charged with drug possession, domestic assault, and more.
