About John

John Bates is a recently licensed Florida attorney with a strong background in personal injury law. Before becoming an attorney, he spent over three years working as a paralegal and case manager in plaintiffs’ personal injury law. He earned his Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law in 2022. After graduating law school, John relocated to South Florida, where he has planted his roots both personally and professionally. He made the move to build a life with his daughter, who remains the center of his world outside the office. When not practicing law, John enjoys spending his free time adventuring with her, from exploring the outdoors to discovering new places together. John began working for Berman Law Group as a Paralegal in 2024, gaining hands-on experience in all stages of pre-suit. He has since been promoted to Associate Attorney, where he represents clients in cases involving motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, and other areas of personal injury. His combined experience in both support and attorney roles allows him to manage cases with efficiency while maintaining a strong client-first perspective. Having personally experienced the challenges of recovering from both accident and sports-related injuries, John approaches his practice with a compassionate, results-driven mindset.
