About John
John F. Pyfer, Jr. is the founder of Pyfer, Straub, Gray & Farhat, P.C., and serves as Of Counsel. A Lancaster County native, he specializes in family law, general practice, and civil litigation. He graduated cum laude from Peddie School, received his undergraduate degree from Haverford College, and his Doctor of Jurisprudence Degree from Vanderbilt School of Law, where he received the Dean’s Award. He also received the Howard C. Schwab Award from the American Bar Association in 1972. He served as Law Clerk for Judge W. Hensel Brown and is admitted to practice before all courts of the Commonwealth, U.S. Federal District Courts for Eastern and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania, the Third Circuit Court of Appeals, the U.S. Tax Court, and the U.S. Supreme Court. He is listed in Who’s Who in American Law, Who’s Who in America, and Who’s Who in the World, and recognized as a Pennsylvania "Super Lawyer" and "Best Attorney" by Lancaster County Magazine readers. He is active in civic matters and Boy Scout affairs, holding the Distinguished Eagle Scout award.
