About John

John Janis is a highly successful trial attorney in Idaho, recognized as the 2024 Idaho Trial Lawyer of the Year. He retired from full-time litigation in December 2024 to focus on an independent mediation practice, having resolved numerous complex cases. With over three decades of experience, he has secured multi-million dollar jury verdicts in medical malpractice, wrongful death, and catastrophic injury cases. He is an AV® Preeminent™ Peer Review Rated Personal Injury Lawyer, a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), and a Fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers (inducted 2018). He is also a past President of the Idaho Trial Lawyers Association and was named Plaintiff’s Lawyer of the Year by Best Lawyers in America in 2015. John graduated with honors from the University of Idaho School of Law in 1986 and is admitted to practice in Idaho State Courts, Federal District Court, and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
