John’s illustrious career and depth of expertise further solidify HMC’s position as a leader in legal services within Nevada. John comes to us from Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith LLP in Las Vegas, where he served as a partner and co-chair of the Workers’ Compensation Practice. His practice areas span workers’ compensation, employment litigation, and general civil litigation, making him a versatile and invaluable asset to our team. John has been instrumental in defending a wide array of clients, including casinos, business entities, and their insurers, showcasing his ability to navigate complex industrial insurance matters and related issues. Notably, John’s career is marked by significant contributions to the legal community, including his former roles as a Workers’ Compensation Appeals Officer for the Nevada Department of Administration and a Municipal Judge for the City of Las Vegas. His service as a Judge pro tempore, presiding over misdemeanor criminal cases, and as a pro tempore for the Clark County Family Courts, underscores his commitment to justice and his multifaceted legal expertise. John’s approach to law is not only about defending his clients in court but also about educating and leading in the Workers’ Compensation field. As a frequent lecturer on workers’ compensation issues in Nevada, he has shared his knowledge and insights, contributing to the growth and development of the legal community. With a Juris Doctor from the University of Denver College of Law and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from East Carolina University, John’s academic background complements his practical experience, providing a solid foundation for his legal practice.
