About John
John M. Alton is a highly experienced attorney and mediator in Ohio, specializing in personal injury and medical malpractice. He began his career in 1977, initially representing defense clients for 16 years before switching to plaintiff representation for the subsequent 25 years. He has tried over 60 cases to verdict and argued more than 15 cases in appellate courts. Mr. Alton is board-certified in Civil Trial Advocacy by the National Board of Civil Trial Advocacy (1997) and has been recognized as an Ohio Super Lawyer since 2004, and by Best Lawyers since 2005, including being named Professional Malpractice Lawyer of the Year in 2020. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers (inducted 2000) and a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (inducted 1996) and the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals (since 2021).
