About Kay
Kay Fuhlman is a dedicated defender of individuals’ civil and legal rights. She understands the inherent inequities in the legal system and believes that every day people need a fierce advocate when standing up to major corporations, hospitals, or the State. She is known for her empathetic approach and ability to form deep connections with her clients. With opposing counsel, she is recognized for her dogged advocacy and unrelenting commitment to justice. Born and raised in Washington State, Kay earned both her undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Washington. During law school, she focused on defending workers’ rights and gained hands-on experience advising workers as part of the Ronald A. Peterson Worker’s Rights clinic. She also clerked for a private workers’ rights law firm and served as a Rule 9 Law Clerk for the Washington State Attorney General’s Office in the Labor and Industries division. During the peak of the COVID pandemic, Kay played a crucial role in securing unemployment benefits for workers who had been wrongly denied. Before joining Sears Injury Law, Kay honed her skills at a civil rights and employment law firm, where she gained valuable experience litigating a wide range of civil rights cases. Her practice now focuses on civil rights, employment, and personal injury litigation.
