About Kristen

Kristen Dorion joins the Douglas McDaniel Campo and Schools team with a focus on civil litigation, family law, and criminal law. Kristen graduated cum laude from the University of Maine School of Law. After unexpectedly falling into a campaign position involving the legal process of Maine elections, Kristen quickly realized that law school was in her future. She subsequently completed her undergraduate degree in Paralegal Studies at Husson University in Bangor, where she minored in psychology and focused on criminal justice. By the time she arrived to law school, Kristen knew that she would be a litigator so she could advocate and solve problems for those involved in the legal system. Kristen gained valuable litigation experience during law school and further developed her interests in the areas of personal injury law, family law, and criminal law. Her experiences at Maine Law include: Student attorney prosecutor for the Cumberland County District Attorney’s office, gaining courtroom experience with the Unified Criminal Docket, and developing insight into how cases progress through the criminal justice system. Student attorney at the Cumberland Legal Aid Clinic, where she represented clients in family law matters, as well as protection from abuse and harassment cases in Maine District Court. Family Law Advocate for the Maine Volunteer Lawyer’s Project. Douglas McDaniel Campo and Schools Summer Intern. Recognized at Maine Law’s graduation ceremony for an Independent Writing Project entitled: A Case for Co-Occurring Disorder Courts in Maine: Therapeutic Jurisprudence is the Answer to Rehabilitate Offenders and Reduce Recidivism Rates.
