About L.
L. Richard DeRobertis is lead appellate lawyer at Galiher DeRobertis & Waxman. His practice is focused on asbestos litigation to help workers and their families who have been injured by defective products or harmful substances. Rick graduated from the Boalt Hall School of Law at the University of California at Berkeley in 1979. He has been at the center of legal decisions that shape the laws on which asbestos claimants base their cases, and has won virtually every significant legal issue to the federal and state appellate courts. These cases include the first asbestos mesothelioma judgment in Hawai’i affirmed on appeal, and federal and state court decisions ruling that asbestos manufacturers could not claim ignorance that their asbestos products caused cancer as a defense to claims they were liable for their defective products.
