About Mark

Mark has been a partner at Barnes Law Group since he joined the firm in 2017. Having spent the first fifteen years of his career representing doctors and hospitals in medical malpractice actions, since 2017 Mark has used that experience to help those who have been harmed by malpractice. Mark is a 1999 graduate of the University of North Carolina, and a 2003 graduate of Georgia State University School of Law, where he also served as Lead Editor on the Georgia State Law Review. In his career before joining Barnes Law Group, Mark served as either first or second chair in over thirty malpractice trials. Since joining BLG, Mark has taken a number of malpractice and other personal injury matters to trial, securing verdicts in each of those cases on behalf of his clients. Over the last two years at Barnes Law Group, Mark has helped secure verdicts at trial of $8.5 million as the lead counsel in the matter of Sain v. Preferred Women’s Healthcare et al., (CAFN 14-C-03749-2)(2022) and $10.6 million as lead counsel in the matter of Sorenson v. Piedmont Hospital, Inc., et al., (CAFN 20-EV-005574) (2023). Over the span of his first six years at Barnes Law Group, Mark has recovered over $40 million for his clients in medical malpractice and general personal injury cases.
