Mark Klinkenberg is a veteran, having served six years in the United States Navy as a nuclear-trained electronics technician and three years in the Missouri Army National Guard. He graduated summa cum laude from the University of Tennessee in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He received his law degree, a Juris Doctor with distinction, from the University of Missouri - Kansas City in 1999, and a Master of Laws in Taxation from the same university in 2000.
