About Mark
Mark McGuiness brings a powerful blend of service, scholarship, and real-world advocacy to every case he handles. With a foundation rooted in public service and legal excellence, Mr. McGuiness is committed to delivering practical, impactful results for clients facing both civil and criminal legal challenges. During law school, Mr. McGuiness gained invaluable hands-on experience through his work with the Veterans Legal Assistance Clinic and internships alongside some of the region’s top defense attorneys. He also assisted in teaching contract and tort law, developing a deep fluency in both the theoretical and practical aspects of legal practice. His academic accomplishments include a B.S. in Political Science from Northern Arizona University, a Master’s in Human Behavioral Psychology, an MBA, and a Juris Doctorate from Thomas Jefferson School of Law, where he graduated with Latin Honors and served as a Law Review editor. Mr. McGuiness maintains a diverse legal practice with a focus on civil litigation, criminal defense, unlawful detainers, and protective orders. A strong negotiator, he frequently helps clients resolve matters outside of court - whether through structured settlements, pre-trial conferences, or dispute resolution agreements that safeguard client interests. His experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants gives him a strategic, well-rounded perspective in every matter he takes on. Clients appreciate Mr. McGuiness for his thoughtful, results-driven approach and his ability to blend legal skill with human understanding. Whether navigating a contentious dispute or protecting a client’s rights under pressure, he brings clarity, compassion, and resolve to every legal challenge. Outside the courtroom, Mr. McGuiness is an avid traveler and outdoor enthusiast. He’s driven cross-country multiple times, always seeking new trails to hike, new sports to play, and new communities to connect with. Whether on a legal path or a mountain trail, he believes every journey should be met with focus, resilience, and purpose.
