
About Mary
Mary Amschel Ruppert joined Johnson May in 2023 as an associate attorney. Although she is a third-generation attorney in her family, she initially pursued a career in academic philosophy, studying the discipline for eight years at the University of California at Riverside and Yale University. In law school, Mary founded the Public Interest Law Student Organization, which focused on access to justice for civil legal needs. She served in the school’s pro bono housing clinic for two semesters and volunteered in the immigration department at the International Rescue Committee for fifteen months. Mary’s practice focuses primarily on business and commercial disputes, corporate governance disputes, landlord-tenant law, and adult guardianships and conservatorships
