About Melissa

Melissa joins the firm as a Senior Attorney after serving the last 6 years on the bench as a Juvenile Magistrate in Marion County Circuit Court where she presided over paternity cases. Melissa s experience as a judicial officer provides her with a unique perspective on handling family law related cases. She is also a certified Domestic Relations Mediator and serves as a Senior Judge for the State of Indiana. Prior to joining the firm, Melissa has dedicated her entire legal career to government service practicing in various capacities such as a prosecutor for both Marion County and the City of Indianapolis and a Master Commissioner for the Marion Superior Court. Melissa s passion has always been working with families. Melissa was born and raised in Northwest Indiana. Melissa attended DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana, graduating with a B.A. in Communications and minor in Political Science in 1995. She then attended law school at the University of Valparaiso School of Law, receiving her J.D. in 1998. She was admitted to practice law in the state of Indiana in 1998. Melissa lives on the north side of Indianapolis with her husband and three children. Melissa is an active parishioner at St. Simon the Apostle Catholic Church. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, camping, any place with a beach and sunshine, and spending time with her family and friends.
