With over three decades of criminal defense experience and more than 200 jury trials under his belt, Michael Holland brings unmatched courtroom expertise to every case. No other private defense attorney in Minnesota matches the breadth and depth of his trial experience. From high-profile murder cases to complex white-collar crimes, drug conspiracies, and misdemeanors, Michael has successfully defended clients in virtually every type of criminal matter. A 1994 graduate of the University of Minnesota Law School, Michael has dedicated his entire career to protecting the rights of the accused. His aggressive, strategic approach has earned him a statewide reputation as a fearless advocate and trusted counselor. Michael’s leadership in the legal community is equally impressive. He has served as a board member of the Minnesota Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and as President of the Minnesota Public Defender Association. He currently serves as Vice President of Children of Incarcerated Caregivers, reflecting his deep commitment to justice reform and community impact. He has also testified at the Minnesota Legislature on key criminal justice issues, working to shape a more equitable legal system. Known for his dedication to clients and his passion for justice, Michael also devotes time to pro bono defense work, helping those without access to quality representation. Outside the courtroom, Michael enjoys time with his wife and two children, golfing, and playing music.
