About Nicole
Nicole is committed to helping the people of Hawaii and has successfully handled serious injury and wrongful death cases, including motor vehicle collisions, pedestrian collisions, bicycle collisions, slip/trip and fall incidents, serious dog bite incidents, product defect cases and medical negligence. Nicole Kalakau grew up in Waimanalo and is a graduate of The Kamehameha Schools, Kapālama Campus, where she excelled academically and athletically and earned a full softball scholarship from Hawai‘i Pacific University. As a scholar athlete, she served as Student Athlete Advisory Committee President and was awarded numerous NCAA II Pacific West Conference honors throughout her four-year career, including PacWest Player of the Week and multiple all-conference honors. After earning her Juris Doctor degree from Gonzaga University School of Law and completing her final semester as an extern for U.S. District Court Judge Leslie E. Kobayashi in Honolulu, Nicole began her legal career as a deputy prosecutor in Honolulu. For five years, she fought for the rights of domestic violence victims and gained considerable trial experience prosecuting a range of crimes, including traffic and drug offenses, financial crimes, domestic violence, and violent crimes. Nicole left the prosecutor’s office as the team captain of the domestic violence felony division to join Leavitt, Yamane & Soldner in 2016. Nicole is the mom of 3 boys and spends her weekends at their baseball and basketball games with her husband.
