Olena Sharvan is an internationally trained attorney. She joined Vaslas Lepowsky & Hauss LLP in March 2018. Ms. Sharvan focuses on the defense of medical practitioners and other health care providers in complex medical malpractice litigation, working on all phases of pretrial discovery. Ms. Sharvan earned an M.A. in Law cum laude from Ivan Franko National University of Lviv (Ukraine) in 2010 and an LLM degree from New York University School of Law in 2014. She was one of nine LLM students to receive the prestigious Hauser Scholarship. Before coming to the United States, Ms. Sharvan practiced law in Ukraine and Poland. In addition to practicing law, Ms. Sharvan is interested in legal research and human rights advocacy. She has also authored numerous publications in both international and comparative law. Ms. Sharvan co-authored two legal reports: “The Crisis in Ukraine: Its Legal Dimensions” (2014); and “Human Rights on Occupied territory: Case of Crimea” (2015), which were released under the auspices of Razom, Inc. Both reports were presented and discussed in the United Nations, European Parliament, Council of Europe and various educational institutions in the United States and Europe.
