After receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Illinois, Paul Johnson attended The John Marshall Law School, during which time, he had the privilege to intern with the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office. During law school, Paul Johnson was a member of the executive board for The John Marshall Law Review. He graduated from law school a four time dean’s list member and with academic honors (Cum Laude). Also, he received the CALI award for excellence in the area of commercial law. Today, Paul Johnson is an associate attorney at Johnson & Johnson, Ltd. As an associate, he has handled cases in the circuit and appellate courts of both Cook and Will Counties and the United States District Court in the Northern District of Illinois. He practices bankruptcy law, criminal law, estate law, and family law, with a focus on high-net-worth divorce matters. Although he believes that settlement of these types of matters is beneficial to the parties involved, he has successfully tried many cases in both family law and criminal law. Paul Johnson is a former volunteer at CARPLS, which is a legal aid service that offers free legal advice to the every day legal problems confronting low income residents of Cook County. As a volunteer with CARPLS, he responded to a wide range of of civil legal problems including, but not limited to, issues concerning consumer debt, housing, and divorce. Paul Johnson has also volunteered as an attorney for the Cook County Expungement Summit, during which time he was able to help individuals clear their criminal records.
