About Pete
Pete Rutter is an attorney who, when not practicing law, can be found at his farm outside of Mexia, Texas, raising longhorn cattle, chickens, and other critters with his son, Thomas, and a herd of dogs. He is a former Baylor University football player, earning All-SWC honors for three consecutive years and honorable mention All-American honors, later signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He graduated with a BBA from Baylor and earned his law degree from Tulsa College of Law, starting his legal practice in Tyler, Texas, with a focus on litigation and trial defense. Over a 28-year career, Pete has handled thousands of litigation cases, bringing over 150 cases to jury verdicts, showcasing his deep courtroom expertise and trial strategy. Licensed in the State of Texas since 1994 and in Eastern, Western, Northern, and Southern U.S. Federal District Courts. Joined DJC Law in 2021, where he handles complex personal injury cases, leveraging his trial experience to advocate for clients effectively.
