Booth Goodwin focuses his practice on complex litigation-from large antitrust lawsuits to serious personal injury matters. Booth served as the United States Attorney for the Southern District of West Virginia from May 2010 through the end of 2015. He focused his office’s efforts on tackling West Virginia’s prescription drug and heroin crisis, holding corporate criminals accountable for putting workers at risk and polluting water sources, prosecuting corrupt public officials, protecting children and the elderly, and helping communities rebuild after being ravaged by drugs and violence. During Booth’s tenure, he personally prosecuted numerous cases of regional and national interest and oversaw the prosecution of many other such cases. Before becoming United States Attorney, Booth was an Assistant United States Attorney for almost 10 years and was head of the office’s Economic Crimes Section and was its lead computer and intellectual property crime prosecutor. Drawing on his extensive experience in public service, he brings a wealth of knowledge to his private practice. Every day, he is dedicated to securing justice for his clients, whether they are large corporations, private individuals, plaintiffs, or defendants. Booth serves on the board directors for the National Association of Former United States Attorneys. He lives in Charleston with his wife and Charleston mayor, Amy Shuler Goodwin. Booth and Amy have two sons, Joe (attending Marshall University) and Sam (attending West Virginia University).
