About Robert

A second-generation Polk County native, attorney Robert C. Chilton joined Boswell & Dunlap, LLP in 2019, following fourteen years of practice with Sharit, Bunn & Chilton, P.A. in Winter Haven. Robert focuses on community association law, business and real estate law and civil litigation. Following graduation from Winter Haven High School, Robert earned his bachelor’s degree from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee and his law degree from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He then returned home to Polk County. Robert is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell, the highest rating granted by that independent publication, and is admitted to practice in Florida’s state and federal courts. He devotes much of his practice to the field of community association law, advising homeowners’ associations (HOAs), condominiums, cooperative associations, owners, developers and other stakeholders concerning the laws of planned development. Certified by Florida’s Department of Business and Professional Regulation, Robert regularly hosts certification seminars for the directors and officers of homeowners’ associations. Robert’s collegial manner, academic approach to legal issues and attention to detail combine to ensure that each client receives elite representation. Robert’s dedication to each client is absolute, whether that client is a small business, a homeowner or a national bank. Beyond the practice of law, Robert is committed to his community, having twice chaired the Tenth Judicial Circuit’s Grievance Committee and serving on the board of directors, and as past-President, of the Polk Area Real Estate Council. Robert is an honorary master in, and past-President of, the Willson American Inn of Court, has previously served as a Special Magistrate for Polk County, on the board of directors of the Auburndale Chamber of Commerce and on the Florida Bar’s Small Claims Rules Committee. He and his family live in Lakeland, Florida and attend the Presbyterian Church in the Highlands.
