Robert E. O'Dell was born in Johnson City, TN, and moved to the Mississippi Coast in 1968. He worked at Ingalls Shipbuilding before pursuing his undergraduate degree at the University of Southern Mississippi and Law School at Ole Miss. He worked as a city planner for seven years. After law school, he worked as an associate attorney for three years in Biloxi. He began his first Longshore case in 1988 and has been in solo practice since 1990, representing Longshore Workers' Compensation Act and state workers' compensation claimants for over 30 years. He is described as casual and down-to-earth, and has relocated his office to Vancleave. Outside of work, he enjoys golf, collecting Native American artifacts, and has three Pomeranians.
