He went on to earn his Juris Doctor degree from Loyola University New Orleans School of Law in 1975. Robert is also chief counsel and magistrate for the Town of Gramercy, Louisiana & the Town of Sorrento, Louisiana. Robert is a member of the Louisiana State Bar and Federal Bar Associations. In 2024 Robert was elected as a the president of the Louisiana City Attorney's Association (LCAA). He currently serves on LCAA's board of directors. He is a member of the Louisiana Association of Justice. Robert also served in the Louisiana State Legislature from 1996 to 2008, representing St. John and St. James Parish in the former district 57.
