About Sam

Sam Coring, disability attorney, is a Springfield, Missouri native and a graduate of Springfield Catholic High School. After graduating high school, Sam attended college and law school in Washington, D.C., where he also worked for eight years as a Congressional Aide for U.S. Representative Mel Hancock (MO). After law school, Sam returned to Springfield and joined RGG Law in 1998 as an associate and became a partner in 2004. Sam joined Parmele Disability Advocates in 2016 when RGG Law was acquired by PDA. He practices primarily in Social Security Disability law and has represented clients at all administrative levels of review, as well as in federal court appeals. He was the lead attorney on the case of Leckenby v. Astrue, a U.S. Court of Appeals case establishing precedent regarding disability cases. Sam is a former Den Leader for Cub Scout Pack 214 and a former coach for youth baseball teams through the YMCA. He attends St Agnes Cathedral Catholic Church in Springfield, where he is a Lector and Eucharistic minister. He is the former City Prosecutor for the Missouri towns of Walnut Grove and Willard. He previously served as a board member for Children’s Miracle Network and as chairman of the SMBA Social Security Subcommittee. Since 2005, he has been the husband of Deborah Thomas Coring and the proud step-father of Elizabeth Thomas and Jesse Thomas. In 2020, Sam will celebrate 25 years as a practicing attorney.
