About Scott
Scott joined the predecessor of McRae, Smith, Peek, Harman & Monroe, LLP in 1989 upon graduating from Mercer Law School. He initially practiced in the area of litigation with the focus on insurance defense, but in 1992 had an opportunity to practice in the areas of real estate and business law. Since that time Scott has developed this practice while at the same time expanding his expertise in the areas of Development Authority law, land use and zoning. Scott provides representations to developers, lenders, contractors, investors buyers and sellers in both commercial and residential transactions with an emphasis in the commercial area. Scott’s practice includes appearing before various governmental authorities in dealing with zoning and land use issues. He has also served as the attorney for the Development Authority of Floyd County since 1999. Scott is an adjunct Professor at Berry College where he teaches Business Law and Ethics. Scott is the managing partner and member of the firm’s Executive Committee.
