About Sean

Sean McAloon has specialized in first-party property insurance coverage disputes and litigation for more than a decade. Prior to joining the firm as Of Counsel, Sean was a partner in a regional law firm with more than 200 attorneys representing most of the major insurance carriers in state and federal court. Dissatisfied with defending insurance companies, Sean switched sides and now represents policyholders against the insurance companies. Sean brings a wealth of knowledge about the inner workings of insurers to the firm and is able to provide a unique perspective on coverage issues based on his substantial experience on the defense side. He knows, firsthand, the tactics that insurers use to avoid or delay paying claims and where the weaknesses are in their legal justifications. Sean is proud to now be offering his services to policyholders and using his experience to hold insurers accountable. Sean has worked on a vast array of matters involving complex coverage issues and claims for extra-contractual damages. He has handled claims involving fire, flood, collapse, earth movement, oil spills, mold, fraud or misrepresentation, and theft, among others. He has substantial experience with claims for business interruption, extra expense, and ordinance or law coverage. Sean also has experience in third-party liability claims for property damage arising out of adjacent construction and construction defects. Sean has been selected as a Super Lawyer every year since 2017. He is also a past Co-Chair and Vice-Chair of the American Bar Association TIPS Property Law Insurance Committee and has presented at the Committee’s Spring Meeting many times on topics including good faith claims handling, conducting Examinations Under Oath, and investigating fraudulent claims.
