Seokchan (Sean) Kwak, Esq. graduated cum laude from SUNY Buffalo Law School, where he received a CALI award in Trademark Law and was an associate in the Buffalo Intellectual Property Law Journal. Admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey in 2017, he is also licensed in federal District Courts for the Southern, Eastern, and Northern Districts of New York and the District of New Jersey, and is a licensed patent attorney. At KLP, Sean specializes in complex commercial litigation, including breach of contract, partnership disputes, defective construction, and trademark/trade dress infringement, with experience across various industries. He also handles labor law claims, such as unpaid wages, overtime, and unlawful discrimination, providing counseling to employers on defense and compliance. Fluent in English and Korean, Sean effectively serves Korean clients and manages Korean-language documents. His accomplishments include successfully appealing to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit on sovereign immunities, achieving zero liability in an arbitration for wage-and-hour claims, securing settlements up to $300,000 in employment law and $2.3 million in partnership disputes, and being selected to the Super Lawyers Rising Star List in 2023, 2024 & 2025, and the Million Dollar Advocates Forum.
